Emperor penguin chicks:

Nearly two feet tall, these Emperor penguin "chicks" are standing on Antarctic pack ice as it breaks up in the Antarctic summer. Greg left his zodiac to walk carefully to the penguins on the same thin ice, and could see through the ice to the frigid water below. These fledglings will swim far out into the Southern Ocean, where they will remain at sea for two years or longer before returning to the continental margin. A Nikon F3 was used with Kodachrome 64 film and a 35-105mm Nikkor lens.
