Eyelash viper:

The yellow variety of the venomous eyelash viper was photographed at the Dallas Zoo with a Nikon F3, Kodachrome 64 film, a 200mm Micro-Nikkor lens at f22, and a diffused Metz strobe. This small neotropical snake is often found at night on a leaf several feet above the ground; one must be careful on night walks not to brush against the foliage without looking first.

Turtle emerging from surf:

An olive ridley turtle climbs laboriously onto a remote beach of Costa Rica to lay her eggs in the moist sand. Part of a marine invasion called an arribada, this female was one of 20 thousand of her species to commit their future generation to the sand, over three days and nights. A Nikon F3 was used with Kodachrome 64 film and a 200mm Micro-Nikkor lens, under cloudy skies toward the end of day.
